Wednesday 10/22

OMG so tired today
Epically long biking trip to stores that are hella far away.
But its all good
It was fun
Things that sticks out to me the most:

Jason: "I can keep up to you guys, no problem"
Nope, didn't happen :P

Almost getting hit by a car
Me: "Whoa, my brakes are hella responsive. Coolz"
Pranav: "OMG are u ok?"

K done with the bike trip
OMG Logitech V450 is pretty awesome
Much better than G5's feel
Anyways, I HATE CHOIR REHEARSALS ON WEEKDAYS
especially when i have a ton of hw to do afterwards
Oh well
I better get back to hw

In 3.3, I play the part of Cinna. The change of mood that Marc Antony sparked in my fellow Romans is quite alarming. I was attacked on the streets for no reason, even though I was not one of the conspirators. When I told them my name, they were even angrier, and beat me harder. I am mad at my mom for naming me Cinna, even though I know she could not have forseen this. I tried to explain that I did not conspire against Caesar, but they did not listen. They instead continued to beat me and then went on to find other "conspirators".

Weekend

It seems to me that weekends are a bit of a drag this year
Maybe thats cause of the epic homework load or the lack of talking to people
Anyways
PSAT on saturday, hella boring and the proctor took forever to count the tests and do everything else
Went to Quickly's afterwards
Fell off my bike and its still bleeding. Ouch :(
Then went to Target for band-aids
Lol Maiko told me to ask the ppl in the ambulence for band-aids when we were at quickly's
Anyways
Did a ton of homework
Played some wii (Got a new game! :))
Hella bored today
Got history book from Kevin in the morning cause I forgot mine
Now im hella bored and have more homework to do

Lots of people went biking today, and we went to:
Target
Tapioca Express
Radioshack (Vincent left)
Pranav's house (Jason left)
and then I went home
i suppose it was quite fun, but none of the local stores have what Pranav and Maiko want in terms of mice

In 2.2: Caesar argues with his wife Calphurnia because Calphurnia dreamt about Caesar dying. Because of these dreams, she doesn't allow Caesar to go to the senate meeting because she doesn't want him to die and she has observed too many signs that predict his death. Romans were very superstitious, and believed their dreams would come true. Caesar does as she wishes, and stays home. However, Decius appears and persuades Caesar to go to the senate meeting. He thinks that if Caesar does not appear at the meeting, the Senate might change their mind about crowning Caesar king. Does Decius care about Caesar? Caesar shows by neglecting the omens that he thinks he is more powerful than the gods. Caesar is too used to his power, which will probably result in his death.

In 2.3-2.4, Shakespeare describes others that fear a conspiracy against Caesar. Adding Artemidorus was a good move by Shakespeare, though his appearance confused me quite a bit. I thought I had missed this guy in previous chapters because he appeared out of nowhere. Maybe he's is one of the conspirators that has changed his mind at the last second. The letter sure seemed so, as it included the conspirators' names.

Staff Learning Day

I suppose today was pretty eventful:
-Stuff with Kevin in the morning (yes, "stuff")
-More biking + breakfast with Kevin
-Lunch at Pizza My Heart with Kevin & Vincent
-Ride to Calabazas Cycles (something like that) in the afternoon
The ppl there were mostly pretty cool, except this one guy that Vincent said was too old to work :)
-Tartinis (Haha I convinced Vincent to get a yogurt thingy too)
-Looked up bikes when we got to my house
-Considered switching pedals, but phailed

In 2.1, Brutus must decide what to do with Caesar. One side of him wants to agree with the conspirators and take part in their plan, but the other part of him wants to avoid murder. Hopefully Brutus will decide on one side or another. He wants to do what is right for Rome, but he is not sure if killing Caesar is the right thing to do. I hope he can decide and make the right decision.

My very boring weekend... So far

I've been doing nothing all day
other than going to REI and Costco to pick up some stuff
Got some hella sick MTB gloves (recommended by Pranav)

In Act 1 Scene 3, I decided to be Cassius. I persuaded Casca to help us overthrow Caesar. While saying the things I hate about Caesar, I am angry that a man like him is ruling. I believe that he thinks too highly of himself, when in fact, Brutus and I are just as capable as him. Sometime later, I believe that the commoners will discover his true self, and the revolts that will happen will tear our civilization apart. I think that we are responsible for preventing that. We must get a new ruler, one who is better for the country than Caesar

Julius Caesar 1.1.1 depicts a scene of well-dressed commoners waiting to see Caesar and celebrate his victory over Pompey. However, Flavius and Marullus supported Pompey, and are furious because the commoners are celebrating. 1.1 is supposed to be humorous, because Shakespeare uses many puns, such as "mender of bad soles"(1.1.14-15) (as opposed to souls).

In 1.2, Julius Caesar receives a warning from a soothsayer to beware the ides of March. Caesar ignores the soothsayer, which is what I would have done, and continues on with his day. Cassius and Brutus talk behind Caesar's back, and Brutus reveals his doubts about Caesar's leadership and ability as a ruler.
